Arsenal and West Ham United must reportedly stump up £40m if they want to land France international striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League duo, who finished second and seventh in the English top-flight standings last term, have both been linked with luring the Lyon forward to London ahead of the upcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country but was not included in France’s 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championships, scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit last season.

Lacazette, who came through Lyon’s youth set-up, was the subject of a failed £29.3m bid from the Gunners and a £32m offer from the Hammers earlier in the transfer window.

Following continued speculation; Lyon have publicly labelled their star striker “irreplaceable”, although the report suggests a £40m transfer fee for the forward will be enough for them to sell their prized asset to a Premier League side.
