Spanish side Valencia are considering a move for Man United defender, Marcos Rojo, which could see the door open for Arsenal target, Shkodran Mustafi, to make a move to The Emirates, according to claims from The Metro.

Furthermore, BBC Sport journalist – David Ornstein – tweeted yesterday stating that The Gunners are closing in on a deal, worth over £35m, for the La Liga defender.

The German international has been strongly linked with a move to North London all summer as Gooners’ boss Arsene Wenger looks to solve a defensive crisis before the deadline on Wednesday.

The Spanish outfit’s interest in the Red Devils’ centre-half could suggest that manager Pako Ayestaran is planning for life without 24-year-old Mustafi who is reportedly in advanced talks with the Wenger’s side.

According to reports, United’s Argentinean defender has been set for the door at Old Trafford since the arrival of Jose Mourinho who doesn’t consider him as part of his plans.
