Arsenal line up £22 million midfielder swoop

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a £22 million bid for FC Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.

The 18-year-old is already an established member of the Portuguese side’s first-team squad and has recently broken into Portugal’s national team.

Arsene Wenger is always on the lookout for young talent, but is keen to bolster his central midfield area with Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere currently sidelined.

Like Coquelin, Neves is a natural holding midfielder but one with leadership qualities having already captained Porto on four occasions this term.
