Arsenal target and Germany international defender Shkodran Mustafi is reportedly set to arrive in England on Sunday, according to Marca (via the Express).

The Premier League side, who finished 10 points adrift of eventual English top-flight champions Leicester City back in May, have been strongly linked with signing the Valencia centre-half ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign which starts in a fortnights time.

The 24-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country and starred for Germany at the 2016 European Championships in France earlier this month, scored two goals and provided two assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit last season.

Mustafi, who scored in Germany’s opening EURO 2016 Group C encounter against Ukraine back in June, is poised to join his new teammates in London for pre-season after his extended holiday.

The report suggests that the Gunners have offered £25.3m for the defender.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made an immediate move for the German after learning fellow countryman Per Mertesacker could be ruled out for up to six months through injury.
