Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Watford and West Brom will have to reportedly stump up £14m if they want to sign England international Andros Townsend next month.

That is the large sum of money quoted by Tottenham if any of his potential suitors are serious about taking the winger away from White Hart Lane during January’s transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who has nine international caps for the Three Lions, has failed to score in seven first-team appearances in all competitions for Spurs so far this season.

Townsend, who wants to gain first-team football ahead of England’s Euro 2016 campaign next summer, has been frozen out by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino this term following an incident with the club’s fitness coach Nathan Gardiner back in November.

It is understood that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants £14m to part company with Townsend as he is unwilling to simply let the forward leave the North London club on loan next month.
