Player of the Round: Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City)

Having scored his first goal in the competition in the last round at Norwich City; the 19-year-old once again showed the potential he has to become an established part of Man City’s first-team in the near future after playing a part in all four goals at Villa Park.

Striker Kelechi Iheanacho bagged his first career hat-trick in Man City’s 4-0 whitewash of Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Nigerian international opened the scoring four minutes into the game to sweep home a clearance off the line from a City corner before slotting home a penalty later on in the first-half. The Citizens’ youth graduate then sealed his first career hat-trick in the second period, latching onto Idrissa Gueye’s misplaced backpass on 74 minutes and beat Villa ‘keeper Brad Guzan in a one-on-one.

Iheanacho also tried for a fourth just minutes later, but his acrobatic attempt on goal actually helped set up Raheem Sterling for City’s fourth goal of the game, handing the 19-year old an assist to round off proceedings.

Team of the Round: Shrewsbury Town

As was the case in the third round; there were next to no shock results at this stage of the competition over the weekend, however the one team who had to fight to cause an upset were Micky Mellon’s Shrews – the only side outside of the top two divisions with a guaranteed place in the fifth-round.

Manager Micky Mellon guided his League One Shrewsbury Town to an FA Cup giant killing 3-2 win over Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday.

Having come back from being a goal down at the interval; the League One side found themselves 2-1 behind heading into the final ten minutes against their Championship opponents. Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro saw his 87th minute penalty saved, however Shaun Whalley pounced quickest to stab home a late equaliser

But even more drama was to come; despite the game looking to be heading for a replay, as the Shrews pounced onto a counter attack which saw Jack Grimmer head home the winning goal seven minutes into added time.

Goal of the Round: Oscar – Third goal (Chelsea)

Having already scored twice against MK Dons, the Brazilian international sealed his first half hat-trick just before the break with a great solo goal. Having received the ball out on the left flank in the final third of the pitch, the 24-year-old brought the ball to the edge of the box, before cutting inside with a darting run and coolly slotting home from 20 yards out despite pressure from the Dons’ defenders around him.
