England striker Ellen White has moved across the Midlands, signing for Birmingham City after three years at Notts County.

“This has been a difficult decision for me but one I believe is the right thing for me personally,” White wrote in a statement on Twitter.

She joins Marc Skinner’s new-look squad along with Sarah Mayling, who left Aston Villa this week in search of a fresh challenge.

As the preparations for the Spring Series step up, Sunderland midfielder Rachel Furness has joined Reading following the shock news that the Lady Black Cats would in future be part-time.

And Millie Turner has left WSL2 Everton for a switch to newly-promoted Bristol City, describing it as “the perfect move for me”.

She will get the chance to play at Ashton Gate when the Spring Series begins – the club have announced a double-header on Saturday, April 22, with the men facing Barnsley and then the women taking on Reading.

“The first game at Ashton Gate will add that little bit more prestige to the game and the girls are really looking forward to playing in front of, hopefully, a very large and enthusiastic Bristol crowd,” head coach Willie Kirk told the club’s official website.
