Bristol City are reportedly ready to switch their attention to Brentford’s star striker Andre Gray.

The newly promoted Championship club had a £6m bid accepted by Crystal Palace for striker Dwight Gayle, but the 25-year-old is desperately holding out for another Premier League move before the close of the transfer window.

Instead; Bristol City will look towards recruiting the Bees’ Gray, who scored an impressive 18 goals in all competitions last season following last summer’s move from Luton Town.

However the club face stiff competition from fellow Championship rivals Hull City after the Tigers have already had three approaches for the 24-year-old rejected by Brentford.

But after agreeing a fee of £6m for former Bishop’s Stortford star Gayle earlier this month, the Robins are perhaps more likely to meet the Bees’ valuation of £7m for Gray this summer.

Why would he leave Brentford for Bristol City?! Huge step back! Hull I can understand but not Bristol City!
