Player of the Month: Tammy Abraham (Bristol City)

Abraham continued his excellent form from August by scoring another four goals in five games during September.

The Chelsea loanee is the top goalscorer in the Championship after once again terrorising opposition defences.

He began the Robins’ comeback from 2-0 down at Rotherham United by netting the first in the 2-2 draw and put his team 2-0 up at Hillsborough just three days later. He ended up on the losing side that evening though, as City collapsed to a 3-2 defeat.

The teenager rounded off the month by grabbing the opener at Fulham in a comfortable 4-0 win, only three days after scoring a 90th minute winner at the same ground in the EFL Cup.

Manager of the Month: Alex Neil (Norwich City)

Had it not been for a mad two minutes of stoppage time at St James’ Park, Neil’s side would have had a perfect five wins from five last month.

The Canaries were leading Newcastle United 3-2 after 94 minutes, before the Magpies hit back with goals in the 95th and 96th minutes.

It was a disappointing collapse from Norwich, but their four wins that preceded this defeat mean Neil still deserves this month’s managerial award.

City began the month with a 3-2 win over Cardiff City, before beating Wigan Athletic 2-1 three days later. Neil then guided his side to another 2-1 victory at Nottingham Forest, before the Canaries secured a 3-1 at home to Burton Albion.
