Chelsea close in on 18-year-old Serie A starlet

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Serie A starlet Amadou Diawara.

The defending Premier League champions, who narrowly defeated Norwich City 1-0 on Saturday, are understood to have registered their interest in signing Bologna’s defensive midfielder during the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 18-year-old, who only made his league debut against Lazio back in August, has gone onto make 14 appearances in all competitions for the Italian top-flight outfit so far this season.

However it is also understood that Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan are keen on recruiting the Guinea-born ace, who has been the subject of several scouting missions from Jose Mourinho’s Blues throughout the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
