Chelsea are considering a late Deadline Day move for Tottenham target, Moussa Sissoko, with their London rivals struggling to strike a deal over Newcastle’s high asking price, according to reports from French outlet, L’Equipe.

The French international, who has left the national side’s Clairefontaine training base this morning in order to complete a move, has been strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane, however, the North London club have reportedly relaxed their interest.

The Magpies have valued their man at upwards of £30m, which the Spurs hierarchy are unwilling to meet, leaving the door open for their South London rivals, who are reportedly happy to meet the valuation, to step in and hijack the deal.

The former Toulouse man has been linked with a move away from the North East all summer, with Real Madrid and Juventus both rumoured to have been interested.

A Deadline Day departure for the 27-year-old would more than likely mean an instant return to the Premier League, along with former teammates, Georginio Wijnaldum, Daryl Janmaat and Andros Townsend.
