Chelsea could look at bringing back Andreas Christensen to the club this summer instead of offering a new contract to captain John Terry, according to the Telegraph.

The defending Premier League champions, who salvaged a last-gasp 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United on Sunday thanks to Diego Costa’s injury-time equaliser, are still expected to allow centre-half Terry to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, despite fellow defender Kurt Zouma picking up a serious knee injury.

The France international has been ruled out for six months after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament in Sunday’s stalemate, leaving Blues boss Guus Hiddink with very little defensive cover other than England’s Gary Cahill.

Having said that; the reports suggests that Chelsea will not reconsider 35-year-old Terry’s future at the club, and instead be more tempted in recalling Denmark ace Christensen from his two-season-long loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 19-year-old, who has two senior international caps for his country, has scored two goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

Christensen has been in impressive form for the German side, who have already made it public that they would like to sign the young defender on a permanent deal.
