Chelsea are reportedly interested in luring Poland international hitman Robert Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League champions, who finished seven points clear of runners-up Tottenham Hotspur in the English top-flight in 2016-17, have all of a sudden been linked with an audacious move for FC Bayern Munich’s star striker this summer.

The 28-year-old, who has 87 international caps for his country, scored a sensational 43 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions last season.

Lewandowski, who arrived at the Allianz Arena back in 2014 following his move from German rivals Borussia Dortmund, has netted 110 times in just 147 games overall for Bayern, winning three successive league titles.

However, the report suggests the Polish forward is unsettled at the German giants after accusing his team-mates of failing to help him finish as the league’s top goalscorer last term.

Hence The Blues’ interest, with manager Antonio Conte destined to bring in a marquee replacement for fellow striker Diego Costa, after informing the Spaniard he is not in his plans ahead of the 2017-18 campaign – via text!
