Chelsea have seen yet another approach for a centre-half snubbed as manager Antonio Conte desperately looks to sure up his back line before the summer window shuts on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports reporter, Kaveh Solhekol.

It was reported on Thursday morning that The Blues had submitted an improved offer AC Milan defender, Alessio Romagnoli which has subsequently been rejected by the Italian giants.

The former Juventus manager supposedly met with the powers that be at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday to discuss submitting a higher offer in order to secure a deal for the highly rated 21-year-old, who has been likened to Alessandro Nesta in the past.

The hierarchy at the San Siro remain adamant that the former Roma man, who only joined last summer for a fee of £21m, will be staying with them for the foreseeable future.

The South West London side are also chasing Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly however a deal with last season’s Serie A runner’s up could reportedly cost the club in the region of £6om.
