Chelsea are reportedly set to sign Portugal international goalkeeper Eduardo this summer, according to 24 Sata (via ESPN FC).

The Premier League side, who defeated West Ham United 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night thanks to Diego Costa’s 89th minute winner, have been linked with luring the Dinamo Zagreb shot stopper to London before deadline day (August 31).

The 33-year-old, who has 35 international caps for his country and was part of the Portugal squad that won the 2016 European Championships in France earlier this summer, has kept four clean sheets in seven appearances in all competitions for the Croatian outfit so far this season.

Eduardo, who has featured for the likes of Braga and Genoa earlier in his career, is wanted by new Blues boss Antonio Conte as back-up for number one ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois – after deciding not to re-sign Marco Amelia, whilst youngster Jamal Blackman has joined League Two side Wycombe Wanderers on loan.

Dinamo Zagreb manager, Zlatko Kranjcar, revealed in a press conference on Thursday, “Eduardo has been given an amazing opportunity to leave for a big club like Chelsea.

“When he arrived we gained security in our team, and in my time in the club he has defended his goal very well.

“But the situation is that he is leaving. May he have all the good luck in a big club.”
