Crystal Palace enter the race to sign want away England international

Crystal Palace are reportedly mulling over a January move for England international Jonjo Shelvey.

The Premier League club, who lost 3-0 to defending champions Chelsea on Sunday, are thought to be keen on recruiting the want away Swansea City midfielder this month.

The 23-year-old, who has six international caps for the Three Lions, has scored once in 16 league games for the managerless Swans so far this season.

Shelvey, who arrived at the Liberty Stadium from Liverpool back in July 2013 in a deal worth £5m, is understood to have fallen out with Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins over the dismissal of former boss Garry Monk last year.

Rivals Newcastle United have also been tipped to make a New Year bid for Shelvey’s services.
