Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced he will be joining Premier League side Manchester United this summer.

The 34-year-old, who left Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain last term following the expiration of his contract, is expected to put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Old Trafford outfit.

Swedish star Ibrahimovic, who confirmed his retirement from international football following his country’s disappointing EURO 2016 campaign in France this month, scored a sensational 50 goals and provided a further 19 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season.

Capped 116 times for his country, Ibrahimovic announced his next destination on Instagram after four years at the Parc des Princes.

“Time to let the world know. My next destination is Manchester United,” he wrote.

However the Red Devils; who could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings during the 2015/16 campaign, meaning they failed to qualify for Champions League football, are not expected to confirm the transfer today (Thursday).

The Sweden star’s switch to Old Trafford means he will be reunited with former boss Jose Mourinho having worked together at Serie A side Inter Milan.
