Manchester United will be looking to land what could be the first trophy of a cup treble this weekend when they head to Wembley Stadium to face Southampton in the EFL Cup final.

The Red Devils, who come into the game off the back of a packed week in which they have beaten Blackburn Rovers and St. Etienne, come up against a Saints side fresh from a mid-season training camp in Spain, having played their last game, a 4-0 win at Sunderland, over a fortnight ago, come kick-off on Sunday.

Sunday will be Southampton’s first visit to Wembley since they won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2010.

Whilst Jose Mourinho’s side are still fighting on all four fronts this season, this weekend’s clash at the national stadium represents the Saints only chance to take home a major trophy, their first since beating Sunday’s opponents in the FA Cup final in 1976, this season – having been knocked out of both the Europa League and the FA Cup.

Despite having not featured in any of the previous rounds, Claude Puel may well turn to January signing Manolo Gabbiadini to bring home the trophy on Sunday, whilst Mourinho will be looking to the in-from Zlatan Ibrahimovic see them through on the day.

But how do the two compare? Take a look…
