Southampton head to Wembley looking to bring home their first major trophy in over forty years this weekend, with just the small issue of Jose Mourinho and Manchester United standing in their way.

The Saints go into the game having not played since a 4-0 win over Sunderland on 11th February, whilst United have had to navigate a further three games since then, including a trip to France.

Claude Puel’s side are yet to concede a goal in the League Cup this season, having kept a clean sheet against all of Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Arsenal and Liverpool along the way, whilst United, despite losing the second leg of the semi-final, beat Hull City in the last round.

Shane Long’s goal at Anfield ensured the Saints would be at Wembley

The likes of Jose Mourinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba were brought to Old Trafford in order to deliver in the biggest games and, with a cup treble still on the cards this term, Sunday’s is certainly one of them.

The former Chelsea boss, who lifted three League Cups with the Blues, will be looking to his world-record summer signing to martial the Wembley midfield, whilst Puel will be looking to the industrious Steven Davis to keep things in check for the southerners.

But how do the pair stack up? Take a look…
