Cesc Fabregas bagged a brace in extra-time as Chelsea came from 2-0 down to dump Leicester City out of the English Football League Cup.

The Foxes got off to a blistering start as Shinji Okazaki scored twice in 34 minutes, before Gary Cahill nodded in during stoppage time in the first-half.

Cesar Azpilicueta fired in a thunderbolt to tie the game up at 2-2 before Leicester were reduced to ten-men as Marcin Wasilewski saw red for an elbow on Diego Costa.

Two minutes into extra-time, Fabregas put Chelsea in front for the first time and his powerful strike just two minutes later sealed the Blues’ passage into Round Four.

Manchester United ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win at League One side Northampton Town.

Michael Carrick fired home a loose ball to give the Red Devils the lead before the hosts levelled through an Alex Revell penalty.

The visitors proved to be too strong for Town as Ander Herrera blasted in to put United back in-front. A defensive mix-up allowed Marcus Rashford to tap into an empty net and seal the win.

Manchester City continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 win at fellow Premier League side Swansea City.

Guardiola’s men took the lead through an unlikely source when Gael Clichy’s effort was deflected in. Aleix Garcia doubled the margin before Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for the Swans, but it was to no avail.

Arsenal eased into the next round of the EFL cup with a resounding 4-0 win at Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool cruised into Round Four of the EFL cup with a 3-0 victory at Championship strugglers Derby County.

The Reds took the lead when Ragnar Klavan found the back of the net from a Philippe Coutinho corner.

The Brazilian then scored the second following a smooth one-two with Roberto Firmino, before assisting Divock Origi, who put the game to bed.

Tottenham romped to a 5-0 win over League One Gillingham to set up a tie with Liverpool in Round Four.

A stunning Christian Eriksen strike gave Spurs the lead before a flurry of second-half goals sent the Premier League outfit through.

Eriksen added his second and Vincent Janssen got his first Spurs goal from the spot, before Josh Onomah and Erik Lamela sealed the win.

Norwich City pulled off a fine display to dump in-form Everton out of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

Steven Naismith gave the Canaries the lead against his former team, before a Josh Murphy stunner sealed Ronald Koeman’s first defeat as Everton manager.

A Simon Makienok hat-trick saw Championship club Preston North End beat Premier League side AFC Bournemouth 3-2.

The visitors took the lead when Makienok poked home inside the area, but the Cherries were on level terms thanks to a Lewis Grabban penalty just after the interval.

Dan Gosling then finished from close-range to give the hosts the lead, but Makienok headed home late on to take the game into extra-time.

Makienok then completed his hat-trick midway through the second-half of extra-time to send Preston through to the last-16.

A last minute Dimitri Payet free-kick broke Accrington Stanley hearts as West Ham United set up a tie with London rivals Chelsea in the next round.

Payet came off the bench to score a trademark set piece in a game the Hammers struggled to create chances in.

A goal either side of half-time gave Southampton a 2-0 win over fellow top-flight outfit Crystal Palace.

Charlie Austin gave the hosts the lead from the spot, before Jake Hesketh scored his first Saints goal to put them in the hat for Round Four.

Premier League club Sunderland came from behind to win at Queens Park Rangers thanks to a brace from Paddy McNair.

The R’s took a surprise lead thanks to a Sandro strike, but the Black Cats earned their second win of the season thanks to two well taken McNair finishes.

An injury-time winner heaped more misery on Stoke City manager Mark Hughes as they lost out 2-1 to Hull City.

The home side had taken the lead through Marko Arnautovic, but a spectacular Ryan Mason strike tied things up.

Markus Henriksen then finished from close-range as Stoke’s poor start to the season continued.

Reading won 2-1 at Brighton and Hove Albion to advance into the next round of the EFL Cup, despite going down to ten-men.

Stephen Quinn fired home from close-range to give the Royals the lead after half-an-hour, before Tyler Blackett was sent-off for a late challenge.

Cauley Woodrow missed a penalty for Fulham and he was punished when Abraham eventually poked home the winner from close-range.

Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers met at St. James’ Park for the second time in four days, but this time it was the hosts who ran out 2-0 winners.

United took the lead when summer signing Matt Ritchie slotted in. Yoan Gouffran scored a stunning goal just two minutes later to confirm the Toon Army’s place in the Fourth Round.

Leeds United beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at Elland Road as Chris Wood continued his great scoring run.

A fortuitous rebound allowed him to head home in an end-to-end encounter, despite a flurry of poor finishing.
