After equalling the goalscoring record of club legend, Duncan Ferguson, at the weekend, it looks like Romelu Lukaku could be about to pen a new deal with Everton, which will be music to the earls of manager Ronald Koeman.

The Belgium international looked destined to leave Goodison Park over the summer, however, the former Southampton manager, who has been full of praise for his main man all season, managed to convince him to stay.

Furthermore, according to his agent Mino Raiola, who was thrust into the spotlight during the protracted deal for another client of his in Paul Pogba over the summer, a new deal on Merseyside is 99.9% done.

The super-agent was speaking to Jim White on talkSport and, when asked how close a deal was, he replied:

“99.99999999!

“We are signing a longer contract, so that is for sure the intention [to stay].”

Lukaku, who is the joint top goalscorer in the Premier League so far this season, alongside Tottenham and Arsenal forwards Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez (all on 17 league goals), will be looking to better last seasons league tally of 18, his best in an Everton shirt, and looks on course to do just that.
