Premier League outfit Everton are targeting a summer deal for Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham, and are hoping to use the Blues’ interest in Romelu Lukaku to their advantage, according to The Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old spent this season on loan at Championship side Bristol City, and netted 23 times in just 41 league games for the Robins to help them avoid relegation down to League One.

Unsurprisingly, the England Under-21 international earned rave reviews and many plaudits following a string of impressive displays for Lee Johnson’s side in what was his first full season playing professional football, and the 19-year-old goal machine has thus attracted much interest from around the top-flight.

And one side hoping to secure a deal for Abraham this summer is Ronald Koeman’s Everton, who are reportedly looking to use Chelsea’s interest in star striker Romelu Lukaku and their own in Abraham to their advantage.

It has been well documented that 23-year-old Lukaku has rejected a new contract offer at Goodison Park and so his future is very much uncertain, and with former club Chelsea reportedly interested in the Belgian, the Toffees are hoping that the west London outfit will consider using Abraham in any deal for the Everton forward.

Koeman obviously needs to bolster his attacking options regardless of whether Lukaku, who they have rated at an astonishing £100m (a potential world-record sale), leaves this summer or not, given that he has been directly involved in just under half of their 61 Premier League goals this term.

And although Abraham is unproven at top-flight level, he clearly knows where the back of the net is, and could be a shrewd signing for the Merseyside outfit should any deal materialise this summer.
