In one of sport’s most ridiculous stories of 2016; so far, Emmanuel Eboue is understood to be trying to convert Jamie Redknapp to Christianity.

The Sky Sports pundit, who earned 17 international caps for England, revealed this hilarious story on Thursday’s latest episode of ‘A League Of Their Own’.

The former Liverpool, Tottenham, AFC Bournemouth and Southampton midfielder admitted that the former Arsenal defender texts him every day attempting to convert him to Christianity.

Their unlikely relationship has been formed due to both of their son’s being seven-years-old and playing football together.

Ex-Ivory Coast international, Eboue, is said to message Redknapp a “Thought for the day”.

He read out, “The quote of the day: Do you think you’ve failed?

“With God, it is never too late for a new start.”

Eboue; 33, scored 10 goals and provided 20 assists in 215 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal between 2004 and 2011, before moving onto Turkish outfit Galatasaray for a reported €3.5m.
