Nottingham Forest have denied that they’ve accepted a £4m bid from Burnley for midfielder Henri Lansbury.

Reports stated that the Reds have allowed the 24-year-old to hold talks with the Clarets after they submitted a club-record bid for the ex-Arsenal man.

However, since those stories broke this evening, Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has taken to twitter to say a deal has not been struck.

“I would like to make it clear that we have not accepted any bid for Henri Lansbury,” he tweeted.

City Ground boss Dougie Freedman has publicly stated his annoyance with the Turf Moor club over their pursuit of his skipper.

But with  few weeks left in the transfer window there will be a few more twists to come in this story.
