Saturday’s early kick-off sees Sunderland host Manchester United in a game which carries significance at both ends of the table.

Black Cats striker Jermain Defoe has been in sparkling form as he has almost single-handedly kept his side in with a chance of avoiding relegation this season.

The former England forward has scored six goals since the turn of the year, including a vital late equaliser against Liverpool last time out. The Mackems will be looking to their star striker to score another decisive goal Saturday lunchtime.

As for the Red Devils, Wayne Rooney has been back to his brilliant best in recent weeks. Despite having a quite game in-front of goal at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea last Sunday, the England captain produced an all-energy display in the 1-1 draw.

With the top four all playing each other on Super Sunday, it’s an invaluable chance for United to gain points on the teams above them as they look to get back in contention for the Champions League places.

Both Sam Allardyce and Louis van Gaal will be looking to their star men up top to produce a magic moment to win the game.

Here’s how the two sides’ key attackers compare this season…
