Out-of-sorts Manchester United host defending league champions Chelsea at Old Trafford on Monday evening to toast the end of 2015 and the halfway point of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils, who convincingly lost 2-0 at Stoke City on Boxing Day, lie sixth in the table after falling three points adrift of the top four following Saturday’s defeat.

Under-fire manager Louis van Gaal needs a positive result against the Blues if he is to stay in the Old Trafford hot seat for much longer, with midfielder maestro Juan Mata one of United’s key players who need to stand up and deliver a worthy performance in front of the home faithful.

Meanwhile the visitors; who have Guus Hiddink as interim boss after the club sacked Jose Mourinho earlier this month, are hovering just two points above the bottom three after a disastrous campaign so far.

Brazil ace Oscar will be either looking to assist or bag a goal himself this evening against United to help the Blues earn their first victory under Hiddink and climb further away from the drop zone heading into the New Year.

Here’s how both central midfielders match up so far this term…
