Huddersfield Town are reportedly set to sign Wales international goalkeeper Danny Ward on a season-long loan deal this summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Championship side, who currently sit 19th in the league standings after Saturday’s thoroughly disappointing 4-0 thrashing away to Bristol City, are ready to secure the services of Liverpool’s highly-rated shot stopper for the 2016-17 campaign nice and early.

The 22-year-old, who made his senior international debut for his country against Northern Ireland only back in March this year, has conceded four goals in two Premier League appearances for the Reds so far this season.

However Ward, who made his top-flight debut against AFC Bournemouth last month, spent the majority of this term on loan at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen, where he kept 12 clean sheets in 29 games.

The report suggests that David Wagner’s Terriers will wrap up a season-long loan deal for the Liverpool ‘keeper, with current Huddersfield shot stopper Jed Steer set to return to Aston Villa upon the expiration of his own loan spell shortly.
