Chelsea’s long pursuit of Bosnia international Miralem Pjanic could end in disappointment following the reported news that Juventus have entered the race to sign the midfielder this summer. according to Corriere dello Sport (via the Express).

The Premier League side, who currently sit ninth in the English top-flight standings following their disappointing 3-2 defeat to relegation contenders Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon, have been strongly linked with securing a transfer for the AS Roma star once the 2015/16 campaign has concluded.

The 26-year-old, who has 67 international caps for his country, has scored 12 goals and provided a further 12 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season.

Pjanic, who began his career with Metz, is thought to be available for around £30m this summer.

However incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte’s pursuit of the Bosnian has been put in doubt following Juve’s involvement and Roma’s determination to keep the central midfielder by trying to calculate an improved financial deal in order to persuade Pjanic to stay at the Stadio Olimpico.
