Gerard Deulofeu could be on his way to AC Milan as Everton attempt to bring Memphis Depay to Goodison Park.

According to a report in The Express Ronald Koeman has put both deals in motion as he attempts to overhaul the squad that he inherited from Roberto Martinez.

Deulofeu has drifted out of the picture this season and is keen to return to the continent after joining Everton in 2014 from Barcelona.

AC Milan have proposed taking the 22-year-old on loan to the San Siro but Everton would rather make it a permanent deal- exactly the same situation as they find themselves in over Depay.

Manchester United are believed to be looking for close to £20m for the former PSV Eindhoven man who is on a contract worth close to £100,000/week.

Paying that fee and matching those terms would be a stretch for Everton but with Koeman struggling to attract players to Goodison the sale of Deulofeu could make it possible to unite the two Dutchmen.
