Player of the Month: Ryan Colclough (Milton Keynes Dons)

The 21-year-old, a product of the famous Crewe Alexandra youth academy, has really lit up League One after signing for Milton Keynes Dons on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.

After making his debut in the defeat to Northampton Town, his persistence was key in the away draw with Bolton Wanderers when he scored a 54th minute equaliser following up after his own shot was saved.

He ran riot two games later in the 4-1 win away against Fleetwood Town, scoring a hat-trick, meaning he is averaging a goal a game.

Having played a small role in Wigan’s promotion last season, Colcough will be looking to repeat the feat once more.

Manager of the Month: David Flitcroft (Bury)

It’s not often that a team can have a perfect month, but Flitcroft’s Bury have won a remarkable five out of five in September to cement their place amongst the League One frontrunners.

While league leaders Scunthorpe dropped points against Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United, Bury inflicted defeats on Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town, Swindon Town, Chesterfield and MK Dons to ensure they are hot on The Iron’s heels.

It’s quite a turnaround considering Flitcroft’s men entered September on the back of a four game winless run and although they haven’t kept a clean sheet in their past seven games, the thirteen goals they have scored has turned them into one of League One’s surprise packages.

Goal of the Month: Danny Mayor (BURY vs Shrewsbury Town – Second goal)
