Cambridge climbed to ninth place with a narrow 1-0 with over struggling Dagenham as Luke Berry scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot eight minutes from time after Joe Worrall brought down Robbie Simpson. The U’s are now only one point off of the play-offs.

Mansfield held on to beat Morecambe 2-1 as Stags goalkeeper Scott Shearer saved two penalties. Kevin Ellison put the visitors ahead with a low finish, before Matty Blair’s deflected strike found the back of the net. Carlisle beat fellow play-off hopefuls Accrington 2-0 after first-half strikes from Charlie Wyke, who slotted the ball home, and Alex Gilliead who drilled in a low effort, meaning the visitors are now three points adrift of seventh place.

Leyton Orient leapfrogged fellow promotion contenders Portsmouth with a 1-0 victory. Jobi McAnuff’s outstanding 25-yard strike means Kevin Nolan’s men have now won three of their last four matches.
