Leeds United are reportedly weighing up a loan offer for former midfielder Lewis Cook, according to the Bournemouth Echo.

The Championship side, who currently sit 11th in the standings following their most recent 2-1 victory over Barnsley before the international break, are thought to be interested in re-signing the star from AFC Bournemouth during the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 19-year-old, who is an England Under-20 international, has featured in just three games in all competitions for the Premier League outfit so far this season.

Cook, who joined Eddie Howe’s Cherries on a four-year deal back in July from the Whites for a reported £7m, has played just 81 minutes of top-flight football so far this term – starting the club’s opening 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.

However, his playing time has been dramatically cut and has since been restricted to just two EFL Cup starts.

The summer arrival of England international Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal has pushed Cook further down the pecking order at the Vitality Stadium, opening the door for ex-club Leeds to enquire about the central midfielder’s availability.
