Leicester City are reportedly interested in completing a surprise summer swoop for Belgium international forward Christian Benteke, according to Gazzetta World.

The newly crowned Premier League champions, who drew 1-1 at Manchester United inside Old Trafford in their last outing and face Everton this weekend, are said to be considering a future move for the Liverpool striker during the forthcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old; who has 24 international caps for his country and is expected to feature for Belgium at Euro 2016 later this year in France, has scored nine goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Reds so far this season, including five assists.

Benteke, who cost Liverpool £32.5m from already relegated Aston Villa only last summer, could be surplus to requirements at Anfield under current boss Jurgen Klopp once the 2015/16 campaign concludes later this month.

The Foxes boast an already threatening attacking line-up with the likes of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Leonardo Ulloa, who have helped Claudio Ranieri’s side also qualify for Champions League football next term.
