Reported Leicester City target Troy Deeney has signed a new five-year deal at current club, Watford.

The Hornets captain had been the subject of a number of bids from the Premier League champions, with the highest said to be around £30m, but all of the offers were rejected, with the striker now committing his long-term future to the Vicarage Road outfit.

The former Walsall attacker scored 13 top flight goals last season as Watford cruised to survival in their first year back in the Premier League, captaining the team to a respectable 13th-placed finish.

On penning his new contract, Deeney said: “This club really means business and I want to be part of this.”

Meanwhile, Watford have completed the £6m signing of Genk defender Christian Kabasele, who is currently in France as part of Belgium’s 23-man Euro 2016 squad, although he is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils.
