Premier League outfit Leicester City are turning their attentions to Hull City centre-back Harry Maguire as they look to bolster their defensive options, according to The Daily Mirror.

The 24-year-old was a bright spark in an ultimately disappointing season for the Tigers, which saw them relegated back to the Championship last weekend following a 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Englishman Maguire, capped once at Under-21 level back in 2012, has started 25 of their 37 league matches this term, and several impressive performances has earned him rave reviews as well as attracted interest from a number of top-flight suitors.

One of which reportedly is Craig Shakespeare’s Leicester, who look set to tussle with Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham for Maguire’s signature this summer.

The Foxes have had an indifferent campaign as defending Premier League champions but have drastically improved under new boss Shakespeare, and will have hopes of securing a top-half finish with positive results in their final two matches against Spurs this evening, and then Bournemouth on Sunday.

However, attentions are already turning to next season and how Shakespeare could take them to the next level, and with speculation building about the future of captain Wes Morgan, with Newcastle thought to be interested, the 53-year-old clearly feels that he needs to strengthen his defensive options.

And signing Maguire from relegated Hull would certainly do just that.
