Liverpool and Manchester City currently sit in control of the race for the top four with fifth placed Arsenal four points adrift after the Citizens’ win over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

Whilst they square off in the battle for Champions League football, it seems both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will be going up against on-and-other in the transfer market this summer.

According to reports from ESPN both managers are considering a move for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand this summer as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

The Reds have largely deployed midfielder James Milner in the left back slot all season whilst Guardiola is looking for a younger option against both Aleksander Kolarov and Gael Clichy.

Bertrand, rated at £12.7m, has not looked back since joining the Saints on-loan from Chelsea as a replacement for Luke Shaw in 2014, before signing a permanent deal later that season.
