Liverpool are destined to offload strikers Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert following the arrival of Christian Benteke.

The Aston Villa forward sealed his £32.5m move to Anfield on Wednesday night, meaning fellow forwards Borini and Lambert are increasingly likely to leave the club before the close of the transfer window.

With summer arrivals Danny Ings and Divock Origi, plus last summer’s addition Mario Balotelli, seemingly ahead of the pecking order in Brendan Rodgers’ squad, 24-year-old Borini is reportedly in talks to join Fiorentina in his native Italy.

Meanwhile Lambert is also expected to follow suit as Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City eye a £3m deal for the former Southampton striker.
