Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a £30m summer deal to sign Senegal international forward Sadio Mane, according to the Telegraph.

The Premier League outfit, who finished eighth in the English top-flight standings and reached the final of the UEFA Europa League final last term, have been continually linked with a move for the Southampton star ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The 24-year-old; who has 34 international caps for his country, scored an impressive 15 goals in 43 appearances all competitions for the Saints last season, including nine assists.

Mane, who joined Southampton from Red Bull Salzburg in a deal worth around £11.8m back in September 2014, is wanted by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp this summer having failed to seemingly land number one target Mario Gotze from FC Bayern Munich.

The report suggests that Liverpool made a formal approach for the winger several weeks ago and are keen on wrapping up a £30m deal for Mane’s services.
