Premier League giants Liverpool are eyeing up a summer move for Fulham’s 16-year-old wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, according to The Liverpool Echo.

The left-back made his debut for the Championship side in a League Cup tie against Leyton Orient back on August 9, and then earned his first league start for the Cottagers a week later against Leeds United.

And since then, the teenager has gone from strength to strength, becoming the youngest player to score in the Championship when he fired home Fulham’s opener in their 2-2 draw with Cardiff on August 20, before adding a further five goals and two assists in 20 subsequent appearances for Slavisa Jokanovic’s men.

Unsurprisingly, Sessegnon’s meteoric rise has attracted much interest from sides in the top-flight of English football, and Liverpool are the latest club to reportedly express their desire to land the full-back.

Manager Jurgen Klopp may already be thinking about how he can bolster his squad in the summer, and having played midfielder James Milner at left-back for most of the season, and with Alberto Moreno far from convincing, that is one position that certainly needs strengthening.

Sessegnon was outstanding in Fulham’s 3-1 victory at league leaders Newcastle United last weekend as he continues to make a name for himself, and with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal all thought to be interested as well, Klopp and his team will have to move fast if they are to land the starlet in the summer.

The Reds are currently fourth in the Premier League table, five points clear of Arsenal in fifth, and travel to third place Manchester City on Sunday looking for a third successive Premier League victory.
