Liverpool reportedly want £33m for Belgium international forward Christian Benteke this summer, according to the Croydon Advertiser.

The Premier League club, who visit Arsenal on the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign in three weeks times, have been linked with offloading the striker to Crystal Palace before the close of the transfer window.

The 25-year-old, who has 29 international caps for his country and featured for Belgium at this summer’s European Championships in France, scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season.

Benteke, who arrived at Anfield only last July following his £32.5m switch from recently relegated Aston Villa, is out of favour under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

But despite having already had a bid of £25m turned down by the Reds, the report suggests that Palace boss Alan Pardew is still keen on bringing the Belgian hitman to Selhurst Park, with West Ham United also named as another potential suitor.

Don’t believe anything or quote anything from the Croydon advertiser utter carp. They spout the same rubbish & Copy articles every day so boring. I’m sure Liverpool won’t be asking 33 million for benteke the advertiser just made that up. I hope palace get him but it will either be 29mil cash or 28 plus 2 mil add on’s
