Manchester City are reportedly planning to gatecrash Manchester United’s deal for Pedro.

With the Barcelona forward’s move to Old Trafford seemingly nearing a conclusion, reports from Spain suggest rivals City are about to throw a spanner in the works by hijacking the bid.

The 28-year-old, who has 50 international caps for Spain, scored 11 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions for Luis Enrique’s Champions League winners last season.

It was thought that Pedro would join the Old Trafford outfit after the La Liga giants’ UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla tonight for a reported £18.4m up front, plus £2.8m in add-ons.

But now it seems Manchester City are poised to offer more for the Spanish winger, despite reportedly also tabling a £47m bid for Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne earlier this week.
