Manchester United are reportedly lining up a surprise £7m move for Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis.

It is understood that the 30-year-old has a £7m release clause in his contract with the Welsh outfit, which has caught the attention of Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman is desperate to boost his attacking options before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening, with Javier Hernandez set to exit Old Trafford leaving Wayne Rooney as his only senior striker.

Gomis has started the 2015-16 season in fine form for Garry Monk’s side, scoring three goals in as many Premier League matches.

Can’t see this one happening! They have one target man if they need him and he is as good a finisher as Gomis.

Depends on the release clause, there might be nothing they can do to stop it. Assuming Gomis even wants the move.
