Man United are considering a move for Sporting Lisbon winger, Gelson Martins, according to reports from The Guardian.

The 21-year-old, who is also being watched by  Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, has been impressing for Sporting this season, having bagged two goals and six assists in 11 outings.

His ability on the ball, coupled with his roots in Lisbon, have inevitably drawn comparisons with former Sporting and Man United icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

The right-winger, who made his debut for the national team earlier this month coming on as a substitute in a 6-0 win over Andorra, is currently on a ‘measly’ £2k-a-week in Portugal, thus a move to one of Europe’s behemoths could turn his head for more than one reason.

However, in an attempt to hold onto their man, the 18-time Portuguese champions are reportedly readying a new offer  and are currently in talks with their man.

Sporting have an impecible record when it comes to producing young talent, as well as Ronaldo, the likes of Nani, Ricardo Quaresma as well as Southampton due Jose Fonte and Cedric, to name a few, have progressed through their ranks.

Take a look at what Gelson Martins could offer United below…
