Manchester United have rejected an offer of an initial £13m plus bonuses from French side Lyon for winger Memphis Depay, according to reports from Mail Online.

It is the second offer the Ligue 1 side have seen rebuffed by the Red Devils after an opening offer of £11m was deemed not good enough.

The powers that be at Old Trafford are supposedly holding out for a minimum of £17.5m for the youngster signed by Louis Van Gaal from PSV Eindhoven in 2015.

The 22-year-old has played just twenty minutes of Premier League football, spread across four appearances, since the arrival of Jose Mourinho in Manchester, and has also been linked with a move down the M62 to Everton.

The Netherlands international, who bagged 28 goals in the season before he joined United, has managed just seven goals in over 50 appearances since he made the switch and now looks destined to leave.

Lyon could yet come back with an improved offer, with Depay being their top target this month.
