Manchester City players are reportedly confident of playing alongside England international Kyle Walker next season, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who thrashed Watford 5-0 on Sunday to secure third spot in the top-flight and subsequent qualification for the UEFA Champions League next term, have been heavily linked with luring the Tottenham Hotspur defender to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The 26-year-old, who has 25 international caps for the Three Lions, has provided six assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season – with Mauricio Pochettino’s side finishing as runners-up to Premier League champions Chelsea.

Walker.

Walker, who is understood to be keen on a move back to the north, having started his career at Sheffield United, could cost The Citizens around £50m in what has been described as a ‘more straightforward’ deal.

However, the report suggests Antonio Conte’s Blues and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also interested in the Englishman’s services, who has racked up 229 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions since arriving at White Hart Lane back in 2009.
