Swansea City are reportedly set to launch a move to re-sign Ivory Coast international striker Wilfried Bony this summer, according to the Express.

The Premier League side, who visit newly promoted Burnley on the opening day of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign in less than three weeks time, have been linked with luring the Manchester City forward back to the Liberty Stadium.

The 27-year-old, who has 41 international caps for his country, scored nine goals and provided six assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens last term under former boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Bony, who arrived at the Etihad Stadium from the Swans back in January 2015 in a deal worth around £25m, is understood to admit that his immediate future lies away from new manager Pep Guardiola’s side.

However the report suggests that fellow Premier League rivals Everton are still favourites to land the Ivorian star, with City said to be willing to include the striker as part of a whopping £50m offer for England international defender John Stones.
