Manchester United are confident that they will win the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Jose Mourinho was unveiled as the Red Devils’ new manager earlier this week, and he is keen to make the 34-year-old attacker his first signing, knowing it would be a transfer that would be popular with the Old Trafford faithful.

The Sweden international, who is leaving PSG after his contract expired, is looking for a club that will meet his £220,000-a-week wage demands, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem for United because he is a free agent.

Ibrahimovic, who scored 50 goals in 51 matches in all competitions for his club this term, worked with Mourinho during the duo’s time at Inter Milan, and is understood to be keen to be reunited with the Portuguese boss as United look to improve on a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
