Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing France international Mathieu Debuchy on transfer deadline day, according to the Daily Mail.

The 13-time Premier League champions, who have been drawn against Shrewsbury Town in the fifth-round of the FA Cup, are interested in a last-minute loan deal for the Arsenal full-back.

The 30-year-old, who has 27 international caps for his country, has made just seven first-team appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is desperate to sign defensive cover before tonight’s 11pm deadline, with United now looking to snatch Debuchy away from fellow potential suitors Aston Villa and Sunderland.
