Manchester United eye January bid for 12-goal Premier League striker

Manchester United are reportedly ready to make an offer for in-form Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in January.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is desperate to bring in a goalscorer when the transfer window opens next month, and has been especially impressed with the Toffees’ front man this term.

United have scored just 21 goals in their 16 Premier League matches this season, drawing 0-0 in three of their last seven games in the top-flight, while Lukaku is the second top scorer with 12 goals.

It would take a big offer to land the Belgian attacker though, who cost the Merseyside outfit a club-record £28 million fee when he moved to Goodison Park from Chelsea in 2014.
