Manchester United keeping tabs on Sunderland shot stopper

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The England Under-21 international is currently on loan at Championship outfit Preston North End, following familiar loan spells at Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United and Bradford City throughout the past three years.

The 21-year-old, who has represented his country at all youth levels, has kept four clean sheets in 11 appearances in all competitions for Simon Grayson’s side so far this season.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is reportedly tempted in making a surprise swoop for Pickford as fellow shot stoppers Victor Valdes and Sam Johnstone are expected to leave Old Trafford before the close of the season.
